Tararua Breeding Centre is a wholly owned subsidiary of Totally Vets Ltd. We offer reproductive services to all ruminant farming animals and pride ourselves in the care and attention to detail of your animals, whether on one of our centres or on your farm.
We have three sites in Woodville, allowing us the diversity of separate quarantine, semen collection and holding farms. We also have a Small Ruminant Semen Collection Centre and Embryo Transfer Facility.

I have worked in the cattle industry most of my life in all facets of the industry from breaking in and showing stud cattle, up to perfecting a technique of safely collecting bulls on farm with an AV.
My passion is bulls and fertility – it’s a subject I can talk about for hours, just ask me!
Luané Studd
Operations Manager
I joined the Breeding Centre in 2026 after working in both the equine industry and government organisations.
Having experience in both worlds has given me a good understanding of how businesses operate, while also keeping me connected to the needs and challenges of farmers and livestock owners.
I’m passionate about people, building genuine relationships, and making sure our clients receive the best possible service, I enjoy getting to know the people behind the businesses we work with.
Outside of work, you’ll find me responding to call-outs with our local fire brigade, spending time with my young family, or enjoying life with my horses.
Courtney Moffat
Laboratory and Despatch Manager
Hi, I’m Courtney, the laboratory and despatch manager at TBC.
I started working at the Tararua Breeding Centre in 2009 on a part time basis while I completed my Bachelor in Visual Arts and Imaging. I enjoyed this work so much that in 2012 I started full time, taking care of the bulls and working in the laboratory processing semen. I also enjoy the sheep side of the business working with rams and collecting their semen.
I collect the bulls and rams and help out with the ewe recovery for the ET season.
If I’m not out on the farm you will find me packing all your semen orders and processing the semen into straws.
Caitlin Mather
Farm Manager
I began working weekends at the Tararua Breeding Centre in 2023, and now I’m Farm Manager.
I enjoy the different work that we do around here, from bull collections to ram collections, working with the wees and embryo programs.
My son was born in 2017, so ‘outside of work life’ is pretty busy with him, my partner, my gardens and my love for growing dahlias!
Lucas Reina
Animal Reproductive Consultant
I joined the team in 2020 and have 10 years of experience working with beef cattle. I have been doing AI, ET and semen collection after completing my veterinary degree in Argentina.
I enjoy this industry as I can spend time with animals, exchange ideas with clients and travel around this marvelous country. In my free time I like to go out running and biking.

I joined the team in January 2026, coming from a dairy vet background of nearly 15 years, with a strong passion for reproductive performances and client relationships in particular.
I believe that the best results come from combining sound science with practical, down-to-earth advice, delivered in an open manner.
The Tararua Breeding Centre presents an exciting opportunity for me to combine my veterinary background with the wider world of animal breeding and genetics, to continue to support the agricultural sector; locally, nationally and globally.
In my spare time I love taking my Labrador for long walks, have culinary adventures in the kitchen, travel and of course spend time with friends and family

I joined the team in 2024. Coming from a dairy background, I bring a practical skill set and a passion for the industry.
It’s a privilege to work with the best animals in the country helping to improve our clients reproductive performance and genetic gain.
When not at work you’ll find me at the local pub quiz, out with the dog or overseas on a wildlife adventure.

I have worked at the Breeding Centre since 2017 after many years working in both the horse (as a jockey) and dairy industries all my life.
I now enjoy working with the bulls and keeping them well fed, and making sure the farms are running smoothly.
