Tararua Breeding Centre is a wholly owned subsidiary of Totally Vets Ltd. We offer reproductive services to all ruminant farming animals and pride ourselves in the care and attention to detail of your animals, whether on one of our centres or on your farm.
We have three sites in Woodville, allowing us the diversity of separate quarantine, semen collection and holding farms. We also have a Small Ruminant Semen Collection Centre and Embryo Transfer Facility.
Robyn How
Centre Manager
I have worked in the cattle industry most of my life in all facets of the industry from breaking in and showing stud cattle, up to perfecting a technique of safely collecting bulls on farm with an AV.
My passion is bulls and fertility – it’s a subject I can talk about for hours, just ask me!
Juan Juarretche
Assistant Manager
I started this position in 2019 and am enjoying learning from the best! I have ten years experience in the dairy and beef industry and have been doing AI for the past five years. I love the outdoors, working with the bulls and keep fit by playing soccer.
Courtney Moffat
Cattle and Laboratory Technician
I started working at the Tararua Breeding Centre in 2009 on a part time basis while I completed my Bachelor in Visual Arts and Imaging. I enjoyed this work so much that in 2012 I started full time, taking care of the bulls and working in the laboratory processing semen. I also enjoy the sheep side of the business working with rams and collecting their semen.
Paddy Kauri
Farm Technician
I have worked at the Breeding Centre since 2017 after many years working in both the horse (as a jockey) and dairy industries all my life. I now enjoy working with the bulls and keeping them well fed, and making sure the farms are running smoothly.
Nerolie Morrison
Office Manager
I started at Tararua Breeding Centre in 2000 and have worked in varying roles over the years until now being in charge of the office.
I am usually the first person you talk to when you phone the Centre. I enjoy talking to our clients and helping solve any questions they have.
Lucas Reina
Veterinary Technician
I joined the team in 2020 and have 10 years of experience working with beef cattle. I have been doing AI, ET and semen collection after completing my veterinary degree in Argentina. I enjoy this industry as I can spend time with animals, exchange ideas with clients and travel around this marvelous country. In my free time I like to go out running and biking.
Guy Haynes
Bovine Reproductive Consultant
I have worked for Totally Vets for the past 19 years, originally as a Vet Tech and now as their reproductive consultant. I specialise in bull AV collections and travel the whole of New Zealand fertility testing bulls, collecting semen for freezing as well as doing fresh and frozen AI programmes. I can also scan your cows. In my spare time I love to fish, play bad golf and travel.
